An institution in Mantua’s dining scene, Il Cigno was opened in 1969 by Tano Martini as a family-run trattoria. Over time, it built its reputation on traditional local cuisine, earning a Michelin star in 1975 and choosing to relinquish it seventeen years later in order to return to the simple, authentic formula of its origins, while still maintaining a standard of excellence.
In 2024, management passed to the Antoniazzi family, who bring decades of experience in the restaurant and haute pâtisserie world. They renovated the spaces while preserving its identity, continuing to offer Mantuan culinary tradition in a contemporary key.
