Palazzo Te | Fruttiere

Palazzo Te | Fruttiere

Overlooking the Palazzo Te complex, the Fruttiere were long one of the least explored corners of the Gonzaga site.

Built in the seventeenth century to meet the agricultural needs of the ducal pleasure villa, they feature a rectangular plan with an interior divided into three aisles, marked by imposing pillars. After a long restoration, they reopened on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Palazzo Te, becoming part of the museum itinerary as a new exhibition space.
