OCM Academy is a professional training program aimed at helping shape a new generation of musicians capable of performing within an orchestra while embracing the mindset and values that are distinctive of chamber music.
Designed as an opportunity to engage closely with the specific repertoire of the chamber orchestra, the program offers five musicians under the age of 35 the chance to perform for an entire season with the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, alongside colleagues with extensive and internationally recognized experience.
Aimed at musicians under the age of 30, the program is designed as an opportunity to approach the specific repertoire of the chamber orchestra. In Mantua, since 1981, the word “orchestra” has been synonymous with an expanded chamber ensemble, resulting in a distinctive approach to making music together within an orchestral setting.
The masterclass offers participants the opportunity to work side by side for five days with established professionals who have developed extensive artistic and professional careers as principal players of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
Held in September 2016 and 2017, the masterclass enabled its most outstanding participants to be selected as extra musicians for the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
The Youth Chamber Music Contest selects talented musicians under the age of 16 for the Youth Chamber Music Meeting, an event dedicated to the youngest generation of chamber music performers that each year enriches the program of the Trame Sonore Mantua Chamber Music Festival.
