The Sala degli Arazzi hosts the encounter of three extraordinary artistic personalities who embody the spirit of Trame Sonore: Tai Murray, with her vibrant and elegant violin, Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg, a violist with a deep and communicative voice, and Alexander Lonquich, pianist and key figure of the Festival, a profound interpreter of the German repertoire.

The programme features Brahms’s Trio in E-flat major op. 40, composed in 1865 and presented in the version authorized by the composer, replacing the horn with the viola and expanding its timbral palette. The result is a work both melancholic and luminous, a crepuscular weave of voices that mirror and contradict one another. Composed in the forests of the Black Forest, the Trio carries a strong nostalgic component, especially evident in its most intimate passages and in the emotional references linked to maternal memory. Each performer contributes their individuality, but it is in the ensemble’s cohesion that Brahms’s writing finds its fullest realization.

Among the tapestries of the Palazzo Vescovile, the music becomes a journey into the deepest nineteenth century: a place where virtuosity gives way to narration and remembrance.
