Established as one of the most dynamic and compelling ensembles of the new chamber music generation, the Paddington Trio stands out for a unique blend of analytical rigor and a rare communicative intensity.
The Trio opens this concert with Shining Through by Ellen Lindquist, a luminous meditation built on ethereal resonances and sonic transparencies. This is followed by the material dimension of Päärme by Finnish composer Lotta Wennäkoski: a “tactile” piece, where micro-gestures and rhythmic interlocking seem to stitch the three instruments together with artisanal precision. The programme concludes with the bold Freakshow by Sam Perkin, a theatrical and cinematic suite that turns the stage into a grotesque circus, between virtuosity and irony.
From the rarity of light to the most overwhelming theatricality, the Paddington Trio guides the listener through an experience of “shared discovery,” a hallmark of their acclaimed artistic identity.
