With this event we enter the visionary world of Hans Werner Henze, a composer capable of transforming the guitar into a theatrical and narrative instrument. Together with Luigi Attademo, a refined interpreter of the six strings, the narration of Guido Barbieri and the voice of Astra Lanz intertwine in a tale woven from emotions, tensions, and inner storms.
Henze’s music is never mere sound, but living matter: from the delicate and poetic Drei Tentos to the rebellious force of El Cimarrón, inspired by the story of a fugitive slave, each page evokes images of striking expressive power. The heart of the programme, however, opens onto Shakespeare and the portraits of Royal Winter Music, where the guitar gives voice to Romeo’s passion and Ophelia’s fragile melancholy. Guided by the spoken word, the audience is immersed in a sonic drama that unites music and literature.
A celebration of Henze’s restlessness and lyricism, capable of elevating the guitar to the role of absolute protagonist in contemporary music.
