Pierantonio Cazzulani graduated from the Conservatorio “Dall’Abaco” in Verona and subsequently spent two years as a member of the Italian Youth Orchestra. From the outset, he dedicated himself to chamber music, attending courses held by Paolo Borciani and the Trio di Trieste, and later founding the Quintetto Jupiter, with which he has performed throughout Italy and won first prizes in several international competitions.
He has developed an intense chamber music activity with various Italian ensembles, collaborating with musicians including E. Dindo, D. Rossi, L. Ranieri, M. Rogliano, A. Carfi, and P. Bordoni. He is violin soloist of the ensemble “Salotto 800,” which regularly performs with baritone Leo Nucci in major Italian opera houses (including Teatro Bellini in Catania, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Grande in Brescia, and Teatro alla Scala in Milan) as well as internationally in France (Théâtre de Lille), Monaco (Salle Gaveau), Germany (Herkulessaal in Munich, Bonn Theatre), Switzerland (Swiss Radio, Solothurn Festival), Croatia (Zagreb Conservatory Hall), and Chile (Teatro Municipal de Santiago and Viña del Mar, where a concert was awarded as “Best Concert of the Year”). In 1990, he toured extensively in Italy and Europe with Astor Piazzolla and the Quartetto di Mantova.
He serves as concertmaster of the first violins of the Bergamo Musica Festival Orchestra and collaborates in the same role with Milano Classica. As second violin concertmaster, he is also a member of some of the most prominent Italian ensembles, including the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, I Solisti di Pavia, and the Orchestra of the International Festival of Brescia and Bergamo, with whom he has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Since 1987 he has been Professor of String Ensemble Music at the “G. Donizetti” Institute of Music Studies in Bergamo.
Pierantonio will take part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of QuartettOCMantova and the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
