Filippo Ghidoni

Violin

Filippo (violinist) was introduced to music at a very early age and began his studies at the SIEM Association under the guidance of Antonio Giacometti, Mauro Montalbetti, and Silvia Micheletti. He graduated with top marks and honors (old system diploma) in violin in 2019 from the Conservatorio Luca Marenzio di Brescia, studying with Maestro Filippo Lama. In 2022 he completed a second-level academic diploma in violin, again graduating with honors and distinction. From the outset, he combined his violin studies with vocal training.

In 2016 he appeared as a featured soloist at the Teatro Grande di Brescia in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, under the direction of Maestro Silvio Baracco. In 2017 he recorded a disc with leading artists as part of a publication dedicated to the unpublished secular compositions of Lorenzo Perosi. In 2020 he took part in the summer season of the Teatro Grande di Brescia as baritone soloist in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He regularly performs each year as a member of the choir of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, participating in productions at La Scala season performances and on tours in Saudi Arabia and China. He currently studies with bass singer Paolo Battaglia.

As a violinist, in 2019 he was admitted—ranking second overall—in the auditions for the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza. In 2021 he was a finalist in the Rizzardo Bino vocal competition; in 2022, as violinist of the Lindenbaum Trio, he won second prize at the “Gasparo da Salò” Competition. He is first violin of the Siegfried Quartet, winner of the 2022 Abbiati Prize awarded by the Italian Music Critics Association. In 2023 he won the OCM Academy call promoted by the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova. With the OCMA Quartet, formed during this experience, he has performed at the Trame Sonore Festival and the International Chamber Music Festival of West Cork, and refined his studies at the Pinerolo Music Academy with Lukas Hagen and Carlo Fabiano.

He has performed in chamber music formations for various festivals and concert series such as the Bologna Festival, Musikamera in Venice, Amici della Musica in Ancona, the International Music Festival of Savona, “L’Hera” della Magna Grecia, Firmamento Musicale in Como, and Amici del Quartetto in Reggio Emilia. As an orchestral musician, he has collaborated with OTO, Colibrì Ensemble, Euritmus – Orchestra delle Alpi, the Filarmonica Settenovecento Orchestra of Rovereto (often also serving as concertmaster and principal second violin), L’Appassionata, I Virtuosi Italiani, the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, Camerata Ducale, and the Orchestra da Camera di Brescia, of which he is vice president. In recent years, with the OCB, he has contributed to the chamber music series “Universo Musica,” which has featured leading national and international figures in classical music (including Laura Marzadori, Quartetto Indaco, Quartetto Werther, Enrico Bronzi, Andrea Bressan).

He will take part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a soloist, as a member of the OCMA Quartet, and with the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
