There is a Verdi that few people know, hidden in the shadow of the great opera composer: the Verdi of the chamber romances, written mainly during his youth, whose dominant theme is love with all its torments and hopes.
Through a simple musical language and lyrical melodies, in which accompaniment and harmony heighten the emotional power of the texts, voice, piano, and spoken word intertwine in a concert that is also a narrative journey.
Guiding us through this discovery are two exceptional artists: opera singer Elisa Bonazzi and musicologist and pianist Francesco Izzo.
An invitation to discover the most intimate and private side of a composer whom the whole world knows for his operas, but who in these small-scale works left something precious and surprisingly modern.
