Piazza Leon Battista Alberti, with the spectacular façade of the Basilica of Sant’Andrea as its backdrop, is transformed by Giovanni Gnocchi and his talented students from the Mozarteum into a true musical time machine.
The programme moves across different eras and musical languages, beginning with the classical elegance of Mozart’s Sonata K.381 and continuing with Dotzauer: the Terzetto op. 104 and the brilliant variations on the theme Là ci darem la mano from Don Giovanni accompany the listener toward the romantic world of Schubert’s Marche militaire. The journey then opens toward the present with Fazıl Say, who reimagines Alla Turca through a jazz lens, before arriving in the world of cinema through the iconic melodies of Morricone, Schifrin, and the epic atmospheres of Hans Zimmer, in a continuous dialogue between memory and contemporaneity.
