Mark Prihodko is a Belarusian-American cellist who has quickly attracted public attention for his fearless dedication to music.

His debut at the age of just 9 at the Musica Mundi Festival in Belgium and at the Chat el Ro concert series in France was followed by engagements with the Moscow and Minsk Philharmonic orchestras. Before entering the prestigious Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School, Mark moved to the United States at the age of 14, immediately captivating American audiences with his “extraordinary virtuosity and enchanting lyrical command of the instrument” – Pioneer Press. After receiving the prestigious “Best Recital of the Year” award from the Salon Se Leve Concert Series in 2015, Prihodko had already won prizes in international competitions such as the Mary West, Schubert Club, Rochester Guild, Rotary, YPSCA, and First Manhattan competitions.

Known for his rigorous programming and dedication to both contemporary and Romantic repertoire, Prihodko has given solo and chamber music recitals across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States, performing on stages such as Carnegie Hall, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw, the Bolshoi Theatre, and Alice Tully Hall. His 2019 summer recital tour “Cerdanyenca,” which featured the world premiere of Marc Migo’s cello sonata, was described as “a sensational program showcasing the highest level of musical interpretation” – Revista Musical Catalana.

Among his artistic collaborations are appearances with internationally renowned musicians such as Barbara Hannigan, Sarah Chang, Gavriel Lipkind, Tatiana Goncharova, and Mahan Esfahani. Prihodko has also given masterclasses at the ESMUC Conservatory (Barcelona), Bilkent University (Ankara), and the Republican College of Music of Belarus. He is committed to fostering collaboration and creativity across cultures and disciplines, and his efforts have significantly contributed to the cultural landscape of various countries. As artistic director of the Althafen Foundation, he continues to inspire and lead initiatives supporting emerging and established artists, promoting interdisciplinary creativity and global engagement through the co-founding of the Global Impact Circle.
