Lorenzo Tranquillini, a violinist from Rovereto, began studying violin with Z. Milenkovic, A. Campagnari, and S. Canino. After a brief period at the Conservatory of Trento with M. Dal Don, he continued his academic studies by attending the Bachelor’s programme in Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano with P. Berman. He subsequently completed both a Master’s degree in Performance and a Master’s degree in Pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with A. Doerne, S. Zgraggen, and M. Cantoreggi. Further important influences on his musical development include advanced courses with I. Grubert and S. Gazeau, as well as studies in Baroque performance practice with J. Schröder and G. von der Goltz.

He has participated in and received awards at numerous national and international competitions, both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles.

He has collaborated with many national and international orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestra da Camera di Brescia, Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Orchestra Canova, Orchestra Sinfonica delle Alpi, Orchestra Settenovecento, Basel Sinfonietta, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, and regularly performs with Orchestra da Camera L’Appassionata, Ensemble le phénix, East-West Chamber Orchestra, Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden, and Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, appearing in prestigious European concert halls and taking part in major national and international festivals.

Alongside his orchestral activity, he maintains a strong commitment to chamber music, which has led him to perform with the Quartetto Prometeo, Quartetto Leonardo, and Trio Carducci, and to become a founding member of Trio Zandonai and Trio Lares. With the latter ensemble, he attended the advanced chamber music course at the Conservatory of Parma under the guidance of P. Maurizzi, Trio di Parma, and G. Gnocchi, and took part in masterclasses with D. Schultheiss and V. Coq.

Lorenzo takes part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
