Born in 2005, Julian Kainrath passed the entrance selection for admission to the University of the Arts in Graz, Austria, at the age of just 12, joining the class of Prof. Boris Kuschnir.
Until the age of twelve, he studied with the violinist and pedagogue Dora Schwarzberg. He has performed as a soloist and with orchestra since the age of ten, giving concerts in Ukraine, Bolivia, Austria, France, and Italy. He has performed in Kyiv with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, in Bolivia with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, and at the Festival of Bergerac in France. In the same year, he was invited to perform with the Innstrumenti Orchestra of Innsbruck on a tour across various Austrian cities, as well as at the Kursaal in Merano and the Haus der Musik in Innsbruck.
In 2020, he took part in the new streaming series presented by the Vienna Konzerthaus, performing a Beethoven sonata to commemorate the composer’s 250th anniversary, alongside the renowned pianist Till Fellner.
He has been invited to perform at numerous venues in Italy, including the Settimane Musicali di Merano, the Società dei Concerti in Milan, the Mattinate Musicali Internazionali in Trieste, Camerata Ducale in Vercelli, and the Bolzano Festival. International appearances include Hamburg, Graz, Vienna, Schwarzenberg (Angelika Kauffmann Hall, Austria), the Museo Teatrale della Scala in Milan, Marseille, Teatro Ristori in Verona with “I Virtuosi Italiani,” Munich, Bern, and Liechtenstein.
Highlights of his 2025/2026 season include a performance with Daniel Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra at the Kursaal Merano, an appearance at Smetana Hall in Prague with the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, his debut at the Miami Piano Festival, and a recital tour across Italy, Austria, Germany, and Spain.
In 2026/2027, he will undertake an extensive tour of Italy together with pianist Lilya Zilberstein, and he has been selected as a Young Artist of the Nicola Bulgari Foundation.
