A clarinetist who moves with equal ease in both classical and jazz music, he regularly collaborates with artists from diverse fields, taking part in projects in theatre, dance, and singer-songwriter music.
Collaborations over the years have been numerous. In jazz, these include, among others, Richard Galliano, Enrico Rava, Enrico Pieranunzi, Marc Johnson, John Taylor, Steve Swallow, Stefano Battaglia, Roberto Gatto, Rabih Abou-Khalil, and Edmar Castañeda.
In Brazil: Guinga, André Mehmari, Mônica Salmaso, Sergio Assad, Trio Madeira Brasil, and the Orquestra a Base de Sopro of Curitiba, among many others.
In classical music: John Cage, Mario Brunello, Andrea Lucchesini, Marco Rizzi, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Italian String Orchestra, the Banda Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo, Ensemble Conductus, and the Bruno Maderna Orchestra.
He has collaborated in various contexts with Gianmaria Testa, Erri De Luca, Ivano Fossati, Sergio Cammariere, Mina, Giorgio Rossi, David Riondino, and Marco Paolini.
In addition to being the leader of the quartet Canto di ebano, he currently performs in a duo with Brazilian guitarists Guinga and Roberto Taufic, with pianist André Mehmari, with pianist Andrea Lucchesini, with Richard Galliano, with Enrico Pieranunzi, in a trio with Nando Di Modugno and Pierluigi Balducci, and in a trio with Roberto Taufic and Cristina Renzetti. Particularly interested in defining a musical poetics that brings together classical and popular repertoires, he presents a program of works for clarinet and string orchestra that he has specially commissioned.
