Violin

Following his graduation with top marks and honors, Filippo Lama pursued advanced studies with renowned teachers such as Corrado Romano, Paolo Borciani, Franco Rossi, Franco Gulli, and Enrica Cavallo. Since 2014 he has been tutor for the violins and concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza.

Since the early 1980s he has collaborated with the orchestra of the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo, of which he was for about ten years concertmaster and soloist. He has held the same position with several other prestigious ensembles, including the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, the “Arturo Toscanini” Orchestra of Parma, and I Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, performing in major concert halls across Europe and the Americas. In particular, from 1996 to 2006 he served as concertmaster and soloist of the “G. Donizetti” Orchestra of Bergamo. Since 2007 he has been artistic director and Konzertmeister of the Brescia Chamber Orchestra.

He has collaborated with internationally renowned artists, including Alexander Lonquich, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, Paolo Bordoni, Antonio Ballista, Bruno Canino, Enrico Bronzi, Dora Schwarzberg, Wolfram Christ, Pavel Berman, and Giovanni Angeleri.

A large part of his artistic activity is devoted to chamber music. In violin–piano duo formation, he has won several national and international competitions and, over more than twenty years of career, has performed extensively at major festivals and concert societies, presenting a wide sonata repertoire ranging from Mozart to Grieg, Schumann to Franck, Beethoven to Brahms, Haydn to Debussy, Mendelssohn to Ravel, and Poulenc to Hindemith.

In 2009, together with cellist Stefano Guarino and pianist Riccardo Zadra, he founded the Hèsperos Piano Trio, with which he regularly performs for major concert organizations. Alongside his concert activity, he is also active as a teacher: since 1982 he has held the violin professorship at the Conservatory “Luca Marenzio” in Brescia.

Filippo will take part in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the Hèsperos Piano Trio and the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
