Daniele Richiedei is a highly eclectic musician whose artistic research moves at the intersection of chamber music, jazz, contemporary languages, and improvisation. This versatility is grounded in a solid academic background: he holds Master’s degrees in both classical violin and jazz violin, graduating with top marks and honours in both cases. His advanced training includes studies with Marco Rizzi at the University of Music in Detmold and attendance at the CdM Didier Lockwood in Paris.
In the classical field, Richiedei holds prestigious roles as chamber musician and soloist. Since 2012, he has been second violin of the Ensemble del Teatro Grande in Brescia, a flexible formation with which he has collaborated with artists such as Myung-Whun Chung. He regularly collaborates with the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, and his chamber activity includes stable ensembles such as the Duo UHT (with Pierangelo Taboni) and the contemporary music group Sentieri Selvaggi. As a soloist, he has premiered works written specifically for him by composers such as Mauro Montalbetti and Paolo Ugoletti, and has also served as concertmaster or principal in various orchestral formations.
Richiedei’s jazz and experimental dimension further enriches his musical vision and is expressed through projects as leader and co-leader, including the solo project Northern Lights, the collective Fedra Ensemble, and his activity with the ensemble Take Off Ensemble. His talent in this field has been recognised through awards in jazz soloist competitions such as “Bettinardi” and “Zorzella.” His research, also pursued as composer and arranger, continuously explores the boundaries between folk roots, academic music, and improvisation.
Alongside his concert activity, Richiedei is also active as a teacher: he holds masterclasses on improvisation and modern bow technique, and teaches jazz violin at the conservatories of Brescia and Bologna. His career has taken him to prestigious venues worldwide, from the Blue Note in Milan to the Quirinale Concerts in Rome, from the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona to the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman, and to jazz clubs in New York. His recordings are released by labels such as Brilliant Classics and Parco della Musica Records, with frequent broadcasts on RAI Radio 3 and Sky Classica HD.
Daniele participates in Trame Sonore 2026 as a member of the Fedra Ensemble.
