TRAME / SULLE TRACCE DELL’ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Alexander Lonquich once again crosses the Festival program with his magisterium. The great pianist and conductor, always Artist in Residence of Trame Sonore, faces some of the greatest chamber masterpieces. In particular, he will collaborate with the English tenor Ian Bostridge in three cycles: Schwanengesang, Franz Schubert’s moving swan song; Dichterliebe, the Lieder cycle on Heine’s texts composed by Robert Schumann; La bonne chanson, written by Gabriel Fauré for a quintet with piano and voice and which will see the presence of the Kelemen Quartet. Schubert will also be dedicated to the only concert of the Festival for solo piano, the Sonata “Reliquie”, left unfinished by the composer, while the French repertoire will return with the Poulenc Sextet and the Midtvest ensemble and with the Three Pieces by Nadia Boulanger for cello and piano, played together with the now historic partner Nicolas Altstaedt. With him, Lonquich will also present the very rare Sonata by Samuel Barber, an early work by one of the greatest American composers of the twentieth century. Another gem of rare execution that our Artist in Residence will offer us with an ensemble of stars, is the Quintet of Costantin Regamey, a Polish-Swiss composer who remained in Warsaw during the Second World War where he joined the resistance. Alexander Lonquich will conclude the Festival playing and conducting the famous First Concerto in E min by Fryderyk Chopin with the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
