Oficina OCM collects and relaunches the forty-year legacy of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, born in the city of the Gonzagas in 1981, with the aim of protecting, disseminating and promoting a heritage as precious as it is fragile, classical music, and the universe of skills and values that revolve around you.
Oficina OCM is a laboratory where it is produced for cultural purposes, an art workshop to safeguard ancient knowledge but capable of renewing itself over time. Previous experience as a legacy on the basis of which to project towards future, innovative projects.
The productions of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, the Trame Sonore festival – Mantova Chamber Music Festival, the Tempo d’Orchestra concert season and the NextG Educational programming aimed at young people are the main areas in which the operations are divided.
Since 1981, in Mantova ‘orchestra’ has been synonymous with an enlarged chamber group. It means making music together, engaging in dialogue with each other. It indicates a tireless and refined work of research of sonority and stylistic code, which has technical brilliance as its essential foundation.
It is no coincidence that the National Music Critics have chosen to motivate the awarding of the Abbiati Prize to the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova by defining the same expression as “a moment of high executive meeting between Italian instrumental tradition and classical repertoire.”
The Oficina OCM concert season debuted in 1993. Its program focuses on the productions of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova and regularly hosts the best orchestras, the main chamber groups, the most successful soloists and conductors on the international scene.
Oficina Ocm looks to the future of music through a series of initiatives designed for the new generations of listeners and musicians. The goal is one: to transmit both the know-how , acquired in over 30 years of orchestral experience, as well as the ability to listen , which is taken care of with the various concert programs.
it is much more than a music festival!
