Vox Musica

Vox Musica

Vox Musica is a London-based vocal ensemble consisting of 14 singers with a repertoire spanning from the 16th to the 21st century music.
The group has a particular interest in Baroque music and often performs, as in Mantua, with musicians specialized in the genre from the best London ensembles.
It has been present at the London Handel Festival performing Handel, Bach, Vivaldi and Zelenka and it has explored French court music by Rameau, Mondonville and Delalande. Vox Musica also participates every year in the Anghiari Festival in Tuscany together with the Southbank Sinfonia of London and there they performed Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat and, by contrast, the romantic music of Mendelssohn and Brahms. Previous appearances at Trame Sonore have focused on Monteverdi and Purcell.
The singers work regularly with other well-known ensembles and many are soloists. In this role they have sung around the world and participated in many recordings.
Michael Berman is Music Director of Vox Musica and founder of Southbank Sinfonia, which annually offers an intensive performance and personal development program for international graduate musicians as an impetus towards the profession. He pays special attention to Baroque music which is an important component of the program. Michael was awarded a CBE in 2013
