Accademia Strumentale Italiana – Bach

June 5, 2022 – 12.30 pm
Palazzo Ducale, Sala dei Fiumi

The Accademia Strumentale Italiana was born in Verona with the aim of recreating the atmosphere of ancient and illustrious Academies. The repertoire is that of vocal and instrumental music between the Renaissance and the Baroque, which the performers approach with philological rigor that has become indispensable today, but not for this incompatible with a way of communicating in music aimed at the present, aware that, even if the score is ancient, the music will always be contemporary.
The group has been present for many years in the most important international festivals and its members usually play with prestigious European ensembles.
The Accademia Strumentale Italiana records for Stradivarius, Divox and Challenge Classics, with recordings that have obtained some of the most flattering accolades of international critics, up to the prestigious Midem Classical Award. From 2020 with Die Kunst der Fuga it started a collaboration with the Dutch label Challenge Classics.
Alberto Rasi is the musical director of the group whose nucleus is now made up of a consort of violas, to which guest artists are added from time to time for the realization of larger programs.
