LUOGHI / PALAZZO VESCOVILE – SALONE DEGLI ARAZZI

The Palazzo Vescovile of Mantova was built in the mid-eighteenth century on ancient fourteenth-century buildings and completed in 1765 by the Bianchi marquises with a spectacular wide staircase and vaulted ceilings decorated with stucco and frescoes.

The ballroom takes its name from a series of Flemish tapestries of mythological and bucolic subjects made at the beginning of the eighteenth century, which belonged to the bishop Giambattista Pergen.

Since 1824, it has been the seat of the Curia and episcopal residence.
