Roberta Diamond is an Australian soprano whose work moves fluidly between early music, folk traditions, song, and opera. Raised in the multicultural city of Sydney, she began her musical path through choral and ensemble singing, developing a lasting interest in storytelling, language, and the diversity of musical expression.
As a soloist, she has collaborated with ensembles such as La Cetra, Profeti della Quinta, Sollazzo Ensemble, The Song Company, Spira Mirabilis, and Voces8, performing across Europe, Australia, India, and South America. She has appeared at festivals including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the MA Festival Bruges, the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, the Adelaide Festival, the Ketevan Festival in India, and the Festival de Chiquitos in Bolivia.
Her operatic and staged repertoire includes roles such as Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Amore (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Galatea (Acis and Galatea), Ninfa and Proserpina (Orfeo), Amour (Platée), Melanto and Giunone (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Jessie (Mahagonny Songspiel), and Miss Jessel / Miles (The Turn of the Screw), alongside a broad concert repertoire ranging from medieval music to Lied and contemporary compositions.
She studied Arabic and International Relations at the University of Sydney before completing a Master’s degree in Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She then obtained an advanced Master’s degree in Early Music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, and currently resides in Switzerland.
