Rilke Quartet

Rilke Quartet

Quartetto Rilke, founded in 2022, is now recognized as one of the most promising chamber ensembles of the new generation. Named after one of the greatest lyric poets of all time, Quartetto Rilke is the result of a shared project among young musicians trained at leading academies and conservatoires in Italy and abroad.

In a short time, the quartet has already received several awards and distinctions. The most recent include its selection for the Micat in Vertice concert season of the Accademia Chigiana, with a performance at the Teatro dei Rozzi in Siena in April 2026—following the awarding of the Diploma di Merito in the class of Maestro Clive Greensmith in summer 2025; its selection for the prestigious and innovative international project MERITAcubed coordinated by Le Dimore del Quartetto; and its participation as Ensemble in residence at the 2025 edition of the Ticino Musica Festival.

In October 2022, the quartet was selected to attend the Advanced Specialization Course in String Quartet at the Accademia Stauffer in Cremona, led by Quartetto di Cremona and distinguished international guest professors such as David Finckel (Emerson Quartet), Alexander Pavlovsky (Jerusalem Quartet), Eckart Runge (Artemis Quartet), and Pavel Nikl (Pavel Haas Quartet). The ensemble followed this training programme for three consecutive academic years. Within this path, in spring 2024 the quartet was in residence at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid for a cycle of lessons with Maestro Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet).

More recently, the quartet was admitted to the prestigious Stauffer Performance Diploma, reserved for a select number of highly distinguished string quartets. In addition, in October 2023 it was admitted to the Advanced Specialization Course for string quartet Cycle Concertiste, under the guidance of Maestro Miguel da Silva (Quatuor Ysaÿe) at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris, where it is approaching the completion of the Diplôme de Concertiste.

In parallel, the quartet has taken part in numerous masterclasses, including the Chigiana Summer Academy and the Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland International Chamber Music Campus. It has also recently participated as scholarship recipients in the 2025 String Quartet Masterclass held by Maestro da Silva at the Académie musicale de Villecroze.

Since the beginning of its activity, the quartet has developed an intense concert career. In October 2022, Quartetto Rilke was selected to join Le Dimore del Quartetto. Within this network, it has performed at major festivals and institutions including Associazione Civita, Associazione Musicale Etnea, Bologna Festival, Associazione Siciliana Amici della Musica, Teatro alle Vigne, Cité Universitaire de Paris, Società del Quartetto di Milano, and Società dei Concerti Trieste.

The quartet has also performed for numerous important festivals and cultural institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, Micat in Vertice, Palazzo Marino in Musica, the Italian Cultural Institute in Berlin, Amici della Musica di Mestre, Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, the Amphithéâtre Richelieu of the Sorbonne University in Paris, the Musée de la Vie Romantique in Paris, IUC – Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti, Forlì Musica, Emilia Romagna Festival, the Sony Auditorium in Madrid, Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Helsinki. In the coming months, it will perform for Trame Sonore Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Festival dei Due Mondi, Amici della Musica di Foligno, Musica da Camera Venezia, and IUC – Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti.
