Mirijam Contzen is internationally acclaimed as a soloist, chamber musician, teacher, and artistic director. The violinist is frequently invited by the Konzerthaus Berlin, the European Soloists of Luxembourg, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble Resonanz, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt, and the Staatskapelle Halle.

From the beginning of her artistic career, she has been a strong advocate for rarely performed repertoire. In this capacity, she recorded the violin concerto by Nicolas Bolens Dietro di te Marciano le stelle with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

She has appeared as guest soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has collaborated with distinguished conductors including Iván Fischer, Gianandrea Noseda, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Leif Segerstam, Lothar Zagrosek, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Eliahu Inbal, Michael Sanderling, Mario Venzago, Gabriel Feltz, and Gábor Takács-Nagy.

Her passion for chamber music has led her to perform with artists such as Emmanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, Mischa Maisky, Clemens Hagen, Herbert Schuch, Tobias Bredohl, and cellist Natalie Clein.

Since 2016, Mirijam Contzen has been a professor of violin at the University of the Arts Berlin.
