Luca Oberti began his career as a conductor after an intense artistic path as a harpsichordist and organist, which led him to perform with some of the world’s leading early music ensembles, in particular with Les Musiciens du Louvre, where he was long active as soloist and continuo player. With this ensemble he performed in major concert halls such as Teatro alla Scala, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salzburg Festival, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Vienna State Opera, and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, among others.
He also developed extensive experience in opera, working regularly as assistant conductor and harpsichord master with leading European opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Teatro La Fenice, the Vienna State Opera, the Opéra de Paris, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, and the Theater an der Wien.
A conducting student of Donato Renzetti, he studied harpsichord with Emilia Fadini, Christophe Rousset, and Pierre Hantaï. As a conductor, he recorded a 2019 CD for Amadeus magazine dedicated to Vivaldi’s motets. He has also recorded two solo albums: one devoted to the harpsichord works of Louis Marchand and Louis-Nicolas Clérambault (Stradivarius, 2015), and another dedicated to Bach (Arcana, 2018). He has participated in numerous recordings for Warner, Erato, Glossa, and Enchiriadis, as well as for major European broadcasters such as BBC, ORF, RAI, Mezzo, and ARTE.
