Gregorio Tuninetti (1985) has been Principal Flute of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino since 2011, under the baton of Zubin Mehta and Daniele Gatti. He has also collaborated as Principal Flute with Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome), Orchestra del Teatro Regio (Turin), Orchestra del Teatro Comunale (Bologna), Orchestra Haydn (Bolzano), Orchestra del Teatro Regio (Parma), Orchestra Giovanile “Luigi Cherubini” (Piacenza), and Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino (Turin), under the baton of renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Gianandrea Noseda, Myun Whun Chung, Michail Jurowski, Semyon Bychkov, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jurai Valćuha, Wolfram Christ, Daniel Oren, James Conlon, Henrik Nánási, Lorenzo Viotti, Marco Armiliato, Bruno Bartoletti.
Gregorio started his flute studies with Antonmario Semolini in Torino, at “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi”, where he graduated with honors in 2000. He then studied baroque flute with Francesca Odling and he graduated with honors in 2005. In 2007 he graduated from the Royal Academy of Music and Dance in Le Hague, from the classes of Emily Beynon, Jeroen Bron, Rien de Reede e Thies Roorda. During his studies he was supported by two scholarships, from Associazione DeSono and Turin’s Fondazione CRT.
He also attended masterclasses with Giampaolo Pretto, Michele Marasco, Andrea Oliva and Gabriele Betti.
