Born in Venezuela, Giovanni Guzzo has established himself as one of the most versatile and charismatic violinists of his generation. He regularly performs in some of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals, including Wigmore Hall in London, Lincoln Center in New York, the BBC Proms in London, and the Salzburg and Verbier Festivals.

He has performed with some of today’s leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Iván Fischer, Semyon Bychkov, Marin Alsop, Herbert Blomstedt, Reinhard Goebel, and Juanjo Mena. A protégé of the renowned French violinist Maurice Hasson, he has worked closely with artists such as Joshua Bell, Martha Argerich, Martin Fröst, Daniel Hope, Hélène Grimaud, Gábor Takács-Nagy, the Maggini Quartet, and the Takács Quartet. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Commendation for Excellence from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

He is first concertmaster of the Camerata Salzburg and guest concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2022 he was appointed Professor of Violin at the University of the Arts in Graz. He plays a 1759 Gennaro Gagliano violin, kindly loaned by a private owner, and a T. Baker bow assigned to him by J&A Beare.
