During its forty-year artistic life, the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova is the protagonist of countless concerts in Italy and abroad, records for various labels, records and directs for numerous radios and televisions, performs in the main theaters and halls of concert by most of the European countries, the United States, Central and South America, Asia.
The bond with Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli and Alexander Lonquich is particularly deep and significant, with whom the Orchestra has built long-term projects and original listening proposals over the years.
Among the other artists with whom he develops prestigious collaborations stand out Vladimir Ashkenazy, Steven Isserlis, Maria Joao Pires, Gidon Kremer, Shlomo Mintz, Joshua Bell, Viktoria Mullova, Salvatore Accardo, Giuliano Carmignola, Uto Ughi, Mischa Maisky, Enrico Dindo, Mario Brunello, Miklos Perenyi, Sol Gabetta, Bruno Canino, Katia and Marielle Labeque, Maria Tipo, Kent Nagano and the unforgettable Astor Piazzola, Severino Gazzelloni and Aldo Ciccolini.
National music critics have chosen to motivate the awarding of the Abbiati Prize to the Mantua Chamber Orchestra by defining the same expression as “a moment of high executive meeting between Italian instrumental tradition and classical repertoire”.
The seat of the Orchestra is the Bibiena Theater in Mantua, an authentic jewel of architecture and acoustics.
