Guido Barbieri – musicologist

After practicing, for decades, the declining discipline of music criticism (Il Messaggero di Roma, Il Gazzettino di Venezia, La Repubblica the newspapers with which he collaborated), he has dedicated himself to dramaturgy for at least three decades. He has written “lyrics for music” for a large number of composers (Franghiz Ali Zade, Ennio Morricone, Adriano Guarnieri, Ivan Fedele, Lucia Ronchetti, Silvia Colasanti, Paolo Marzocchi, Mauro Cardi, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Riccardo Nova, Luigi Ceccarelli and many others), sometimes lending their own voice to the narrative. Recitals, operas and concerts have been hosted by major theaters, festivals and concert halls in Italy and in some cases abroad. It is still present, with a certain regularity, in the musical programs of Radio 3 and has recently begun to collaborate with the cultural pages of Il Manifesto. He has not yet abandoned the practice of teaching (currently he is professor of History and Aesthetics of Music at the “B. Maderna” Conservatory in Cesena) and continues to lecture and write room programs for numerous Italian musical institutions.
