Giovanni Landini – piano

Landini began his musical education at the Santa Cecilia Music School in Brescia, where he began studying piano, harmony and counterpoint with Maestro Giancarlo Facchinetti and Maestro Antonio Giacometti.
His career began in 1996 after winning first prize in the Berklee European Scholarship Tour competition in Paris, which also allowed him to attend the Berklee College of Music before graduating with honors in composition in 2000.
He finished his studies at the ‘G. Verdi’ of Milan where he graduated in composition under the guidance of Maestro Paolo Rimoldi, choir conducting with Maestro Domenico Zingaro, orchestral conducting with Maestro Vittorio Parisi and piano with Maestro Sergio Lattes. He specialized in conducting with Jorma Panula, Herbert Handt, Otto Werner-Müller and Piero Bellugi.
Some of his most important collaborations as a conductor and composer include: the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona, the Orchestra di Milano Classica, the Vorpommern Theater Orchester, the Maykop Philharmonic, the Saint Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Jener Philharmoniker, Berliner Symphoniker, the Nordostdeutscheche Philharmonie and the Kammerphilharmonie Leipzig. In 2008 he was invited as guest conductor at the Konzerthaus in Berlin and at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. Again as conductor and composer he collaborates with Traiettorie Sonore and Icarus Ensemble on a production of the REC Festival dedicated to Arnold Schönberg.
He then became principal guest conductor of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and in 2019 musical and artistic director of the Chengdu Music Festival in China.
