Biagio Zoli - percussion

Biagio Zoli, first timpanist of the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, graduated from the Parma Conservatory with maestro Danilo Grassi. He also studied with Gianni Giangrasso, Gregory Le Coeur, Fausto Bombardieri, Brian Barker, Torsten Schönfeld.
He has played with the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, the Swiss Radio Orchestra of Lugano, the Italian Virtuosi, the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany, the Teatro Comunale of Modena, the “Verdi” Orchestra of Milan, the Icarus ensemble of Reggio Emilia, the Philharmonic of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Symphony Orchestra of Rome, Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Regional Orchestra of Emilia Romagna “Arturo Toscanini”, Teatro dell’Opera of Rome, Teatro San Carlo of Naples and many others.
He has collaborated with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Yuri Temircanov, James Conlon, Kurt Masur, Jurai Valchua, Claudio Abbado, Zubin Metha, Daniel Baremboim, Daniel Oren, Fabio Luisi, Daniel Harding, Valerij Gergiev and many others, playing in the most prestigious theaters and auditoriums in the world.
Since 2022 he has been a teacher and creator of the annual course “TIMPANI!” at the “Campiani” Conservatory of Mantua.
Although he works mainly in the world of classical music, he is also active in pop-rock music as a percussionist, drummer and producer. In 2009 he founded the musical company BACK TO SOUND, of which he was the artistic director.
In 2014 he founded Pikkerosse with which he produced new songs and new ones including It will be an error. He has collaborated with artists such as Elio (of Elio e le storie tese), Moni Ovadia and Antonella Ruggiero.
In 2020 he founded the Torino Sinfonietta of which he is musical and artistic director.
