Antonio Greco - conductor

Antonio Greco has diplomas in Piano, Choral Music and Choral Conducting, and a degree in Renaissance Polyphony. He teaches choral exercises at the ISSM “Verdi” in Ravenna.
In 1993 he founded the Costanzo Porta Choir and in 2004 the Cremona Antiqua Orchestra, an ensemble on original instruments, leading which he held concerts in the most important Italian and European festivals.
He was assistant conductor to Sir John Eliot Gardiner and harpsichordist of the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists on numerous world tours.
He has collaborated since 2018, as choirmaster, with Riccardo Muti.
He was choirmaster of Opera Lombardia, Opéra de Lausanne and the “Luigi Cherubini” choir.
He has held masterclasses in Baroque repertoire at the “Celletti” Academy of Martina Franca, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Bologna Opera School, Ancient Music at the Palazzo in Genoa, the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona and choral conducting masterclasses at ASAC Veneto and the Guido Foundation of Arezzo.
As a conductor he has worked with the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra Luigi Cherubini, Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, the OIDI Festival Baroque Ensemble, the Orchestra della Magna Grecia, Cremona Antiqua, Orchestra “1813” of the Teatro Sociale di Como, Baroque Opera Concert in Tokyo.
In 2021 he was Musical Director at Il Cantiere di Montepulciano. In the same year he was appointed principal Musical Director of the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona, of which his two ensembles, under the name of Coro and Orchestra Cremona Antiqua, became the resident groups.
