Pianist and cellist, Stefano Guarino studied with Sergio Torri, Piero Guarino, Piernarciso Masi, Donna Magendanz, Mario Brunello, Enrico Dindo.
He was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He has played as first cello with the Mantua Chamber Orchestra, I Solisti di Pavia, the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Toscanini Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Salzburg.
He has recorded pieces for solo cello and solo piano for Symposion, and for Tactus the complete chamber compositions, and for solo cello and small orchestra by Riccardo Zandonai.
As a soloist at the piano he has played among others with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, the Orchestra of the State Academy of Sofia, the Federation of Trentino Band Bodies and the Chamber Orchestra of Trento. As a soloist on the cello with Camerata Italiana, I Virtuosi Italiani, Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, Chamber Orchestra of Trento, Chamber Orchestra of Brescia, Orchestra “Archi” of Turin, Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, Chamber Orchestra of Padua and Veneto , Camerata Salzburg and Orchestra of the Olympic Theater.
In the chamber sector, with the Hèsperos Piano Trio (Filippo Lama on the violin and Riccardo Zadra on the piano), he recently performed the complete Beethoven’s Trios in various Italian theaters.
He has been invited by Aldeburgh Music (England – Snape Festival) as tutor of the cellos of the Britten Pears Youth Orchestra, and recently, in the same role, by EUYO.
