Born in Genoa, Riccardo Agosti graduated with Nevio Zanardi.
He later studied with Rocco Filippini and Michael Flaksman, of whom he was subsequently assistant in some summer courses in Italy and Germany.
He has participated in numerous masterclasses of Yo-Yo Ma, Natalia Gutman and Daniel Shafran.
As a member of the ECYO (“European Community Youth Orchestra”), he has participated in numerous tours in Europe and Asia, under the direction, among others, of Claudio Abbado and Sir Georg Solti.
He won the First Cello competition at the “Teatro Carlo Felice” in Genoa at a very young age, a role he currently holds.
He has been a soloist under the guidance of conductors such as Daniel Oren, Yoram David and Juanjo Mena.
He has been invited as first cello at the Rome Opera, at the Rai in Turin, at the Teatro Regio in Turin, at the Scala in Milan, at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
He has been tutor of the cellos section at the Italian Youth Orchestra and has held master classes in various Italian cities.
Always dedicated to chamber music, he played alongside important musicians such as Salvatore Accardo, Cristiano Rossi, Bruno Giuranna, Franco Petracchi, Quartetto di Cremona.
For the Dynamic record company he recorded the complete guitar quartets of Nicolò Paganini, the trios of Camillo Sivori and the duets of Paganini with the violinist Stefan Milenkovich.
