Judith van Wanroij began studying singing at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Margreet Honig. She obtained the Certificate (with honors) of the Advanced Opera Program at the Opera Academy De Nieuwe in Amsterdam and The Hague in 2004 and won the First Prize of the prestigious competition ‘Erna Spoorenberg Vocalisten Presentatie’. She immediately took part in numerous concerts in Europe, in particular with Frans Brüggen, Edo de Waart, William Christie, Kenneth Weiss, Jesus Lopez Cobos, René Jacobs, Emmanuel Krivine, Christophe Rousset, Hervé Niquet, Jaap van Zweden, Skip Sempe, Marc Minkowski.

She made her debut in the opera world with the main role in Offenbach’s La Périchole, then Musetta in La Bohème, Papagena in The Magic Flute, etc. Since then she has held roles in numerous European theaters including Theater Basel, Opéra de Saint-Etienne, Orchester du Capitole de Toulouse, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, at the Mozartfest Würzburg.

Important appointments for the next season are: starring role Iphigénie en Aulide with Le Concert de la Loge, Electra at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Castor et Pollux in Budapest, First Lady at the Champs-Élysées theater.
