Giangiacomo Pinardi studied guitar with Costantino Amiti and specialized in the study of ancient plucked instruments with Massimo Lonardi at the Musical Institute of Pavia and at the School of Ancient Music in Venice. Collaborating with numerous groups specialized in the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire ( I Barocchisti, Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, Mediterranean Chapel, Zefiro, Odhecaton, Alessandro Stradella Consort, Arte Resoluta, Fantazyas, Il Pomo d’Oro, Alchemical Music … ) still carries out an intense concert activity in Italy and abroad.
Since 2001 he has been steadily working with the Europa Galante ensemble directed by Fabio Biondi, performing regularly in the most important international concert and opera seasons in Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, China, Korea, Hong-Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
He has around a hundred recordings for EMI-Virgin, Sony, Decca, Opus 111, Harmonia Mundi, Glossa, Naxos, Brilliant, Chandos, Amadeus, Tactus, Dynamic, Bongiovanni, Stradivarius, Orfeo, ASV Record, Claves, and for European and American radio and television broadcasters.
He edited the critical edition of the work of F. Corbetta.
He is a lute teacher at the Biscantores Academy summer courses.
He was lute teacher at the “G. Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro and teacher of Ensemble and Continuo Music at the “I level Master in Theory and Practice of Ancient Music” activated at the “Vecchi-Tonelli Music Institute” “Of Modena.
