Francesco Senese is a member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster of the Mozart Orchestra of Bologna. He has played under the direction of Diego Matheuz with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra and has performed as a soloist with various orchestras including the Human Rights Orchestra, the Cameristi della Scala and the Mozart Orchestra together with musicians such as Isabelle Faust, Raphael Christ, Danusha Waskiewicz and Alois Posh. He is a frequent guest of Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchester Philharmonique du Luxembourg and SWR Symphonieorchester. He plays with musicians such as Julian Rachlin, Mario Brunello, Isabelle Faust, Ingrid Fliter, Andrea Rebaudengo, Itamar Golan, Kathia Buniatiashvili, Alina Pogotskina, Wolfram Christ, Clemens Hagen, Alessio Allegrini, Anton Dressler.
With the violist Simone Briatore and the cellist Patrizio Serino he has been collaborating for more than 15 years, developing significant experiences such as Kaleido Ensemble and Quartetto Matamoe. Since 2018 he has been playing in a duo with André Gallo with whom he recorded Gabriel Fauré’s work for violin and piano for Amadeus.
Francesco Senese has taught, at the invitation of Claudio Abbado and Diego Matheuz, for the System of Youth and Children Orchestras of Venezuela founded by José Antonio Abreu, holding masterclasses for the young musicians of Caracas and Barquisimeto.
He is artistic director of the “Musica sull’Acqua” Festival in Colico, his hometown.
Since January 2019 he has been teaching violin at the Conservatorio V. Bellini of Catania.
