Blagoj Nacoski - tenor

Italian by adoption, the Macedonian tenor Blagoj Nacoski was born in Skopje into a family of musicians. He began studying singing under the guidance of his mother and subsequently in Italy, in Rome and Florence. He has lived in Italy for 26 years and in 2008 he was appointed “Ambassador of Macedonian culture in Italy”. He stands out for his extraordinary musicality, elegance in phrasing as well as his charisma and stage presence.
In February 2003, he made his debut at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and from that moment began his international career singing in the major Italian theatres, such as La Scala in Milan, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, San Carlo in Naples, Regio di Parma, Carlo Felice of Genoa, Verdi of Trieste, La Fenice of Venice, Lirico of Cagliari, Petruzzelli of Bari, Macerata Opera Festival, Alighieri of Ravenna, Fraschini of Pavia, Rendano of Cosenza, and foreign ones such as the Opernhaus of Zurich, Frankfurt Oper, Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Théatre Royal de la Monnaie Brussels, New York City Opera, Seattle Opera, Canadian Opera Company Toronto, Bunka Kaikan Theater Tokyo, New National Theater Tokyo, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Limoges Opera, Theater Municipal of Sao Paulo, Ryutopia Center Niigata, Teatro Solìs of Montevideo, Gran Theater du Aix-En-Provence, Macedonian National Opera of Skopje, Busan Cultural Centre, Polish National Opera of Warsaw, National Theater of Prague, National Theater of Rijeka, as also the Salzburg Festival, Vilnius City Opera, Miskolc Opera Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, Hallwyl Festival, Paphos Opera Festival etc.
In addition to opera music, Nacoski also dedicates himself to Italian, English and German Lied chamber music. In recent years, in a duo with pianist Luca Ciammarughi they have performed Schubert’s Winterreise, Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin, Schumann’s Dichterliebe on numerous occasions, as well as music by Schumann, Mahler, Hahn, Beethoven as well as Macedonian composers. This year he performs at the Trame Sonore Festival for the fourth consecutive year, again in a duo with Ciammarughi.
