A trio of friends from the Festival meets at the Bibiena Theater to perform one of Brahms’ greatest masterpieces. The Trio op. 114 is a work of smooth balance, from which transpires the sweet melancholy of the late Brahms, whose occasional moments of ardor appear filtered by a veil of irrepressible nostalgia.
