Symphony n. 3 in A minor op. 56 “Scottish”

50′ | Admission €15

The Focus Mendelssohn continues with the last and perhaps most loved of his symphonies, the Scottish. Inspired by the Caledonian mists observed in youth travels, this Symphony transports the storms of the Scottish sea, the calls of sailors, the solemnity of a funeral march, the majesty of a hymn into an extended symphonic poem. Opens the concert “Harmonium”, a real harmonic study of the American composer and theorist James Tenney. On the podium of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, ensemble in residence of the Festival, the conductor and pianist Michele Gamba.
