B. Bartók (1881-1945)
Quartet No. 6 in D minor

Admission € 15

The quartet no. 6 by Béla Bartòk is the last work before his flight to America to escape the rampant Nazi regime in Europe. In addition to the weight of the world conflict, the pain of the loss of the mother is present in the work. What better quartet than the Kelemen Quartet for this late evening concert (for the ‘Round Midnight’ plot) at the ancient Rotonda di San Lorenzo? The four musicians are involved in a project dedicated to the integral of Bartòk’s quartets, which are, in the words of Barnabas Kelemen, “the essence of his work”.
